Strong Yoga Flow at Profectus Jiu-Jitsu Wilco

60 minute hatha- and vinyasa-inspired yoga session at Profectus Jiu-Jitsu Wilco in Lebanon, TN

What to expect

Enjoy an hour-long session that builds strength in both your body and mind… and leave feeling calm, energized, and ready to tackle your jiu jitsu training, the rest of your day, or whatever life throws at you with a more mindful approach. No, you don’t have to be a member of the gym to join us, and you don’t have to practice jiu jitsu to benefit!

Whether you’re looking for a low-impact way to build endurance in your body and breath, want to become more self-aware and gain clarity and focus, or just wanting to reap the endless benefits of yoga in a new way, this strong, engaging flow class pairs aspects of hatha and gentle vinyasa yoga to help you develop conscious body and breath connection throughout your practice. You’ll experience moments of gently flowing asana sequences and explore static poses with nuanced movements that allow you to test your mental and physical strength. You’ll also tap into moments of mindfulness to help you cultivate a deeper sense of awareness and connection, both to yourself and your surroundings.

As we move and settle into various postures, you’ll be presented with variations when appropriate, allowing you to decide what feels best in your body and whether you need to find more ease or a deeper challenge today.

What you need

-A bottle of water or something to stay hydrated

-Blocks, if they're part of your practice (optional)

-A willingness to explore how yoga is an incredible practice to help you gain strength in body and mind while also easing you into a more relaxed and mindful state of being

-Wait, what about a mat??

You don’t actually need to bring one when you practice here! Since it’s a jiu jitsu gym, a huge part of the floor is a nice, padded surface!

About yoga teacher Jess Frischolz

Jess has been practicing yoga since 2008, with a dedicated daily practice since 2015, and started teaching in 2021. She was inspired to deepen her practice through the kind and loving guidance she received from her teacher and mentor, Jennifer Ewert, after becoming a committed student at the studio. With her experience as a former classroom teacher, Jess’s decision to guide others in their own yoga journeys was a seamless transition. She received her 200hr YTT with Jennifer in 2021 from Akasha Yoga Center, with a focus on hatha and vinyasa styles, and influences of viniyoga as well. She has continued her studies through various courses, books, live workshops, and additional trainings, such as a 30hr children’s yoga training in 2024.

Jess teaches with a gentle, lighthearted approach, empowering you to tune into your body and honor what you need by offering variations to find ease or deepen into a posture. Her classes allow you to develop a higher sense of body, breath, and mind connection, whether flowing through vinyasas or finding nuanced movements in static poses. Her goal is to help you cultivate more self-awareness and become more deeply connected to yourself, others, and the world around you.
